I have a real proper “serious” blog now. Here is a post about cheap sex toys.

Me (cis f) and my boyfriend (cis) have started looking for our third in our relationship but we're in a pretty conservative area of the US. A lot of people accuse us of being bored of each other or not being in love enough to be monogamous. I've also had friends of mine tell me that I'm letting him walk all over me by letting him sleep with other women before he officially commits to him, while I prefer to have an emotional connection first. Both our parents have also voiced similar complaints.

It might be a bit tricky finding someone who clicks with both of you instead of just one - but we say, go for it hammer and tongs! I (Admin A) have two partners (one of whom is Admin 1), and while they’re not in a relationship with each other, they certainly *ahem* know each other *cough* and enjoy each others *coughgenitalscough* COMPANY I MEAN COMPANY so that could work!

Naturally! It seems so bizarre to some people. We (admins) have been relatively lucky because our friendship group is generally queer and enlightened already, with people rightly feeling that, even if they don’t understand it, we’re not hurting them or ourselves, so right on for us! my friend’s been having a difficult time with people misunderstanding her polyamory, so she’s set up a blog to collect posi stories from poly ppl about how it’s not an inherently awful relationship format

In her words:

When we identify as polyamorous or when we are in ethically non-monogamous relationships we hear a lot of people telling us that ‘it will never work’. I wanted to create a space where we could share our positive experiences with each other.

I don’t want to imply that non-monogamous relationships are always easy, but I do want to start to build a picture of the many amazing ways that people are making it work.

I hope that by sharing our stories we can give strength and support to each other. I also hope that it might be a useful resource to share with those in our lives who are struggling to understand how it might work for people (perhaps friends or family members).
